Alicia English biography

Alicia English is an agricultural economist in the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Statistics Division. Her main body of work for the Organization has been the development of the dataset on losses along the food supply chain, the estimation model for losses, and developing the methodological and measurement aspects of the Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.1.a on Food Losses.  

In addition to being passionate about finding technical solutions to problems, she has been developing research, policy, and supporting donor initiatives in the areas of agricultural production, supply chain and energy issues around the globe for the last decade.  She has consulted for several Governments and Donor agencies and worked closely with senior stakeholders and decision makers, CxO executives in the Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and the US to convert the results on the analysis into tangible solutions.

She was a Fulbright Scholar to Kosovo in 2014. English received her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics in 2013 from Purdue University.
