Deirdre Holcroft biography
Deirdre Holcroft is a founder of Holcroft Postharvest Consulting and a board member of the Postharvest Education Foundation. She is a specialist in the post-harvest handling of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. She brings almost three decades of experience in academia, agriculture, and consulting.
Deirdre is highly accomplished in applied research, technical and educational consulting, and product development. She is a leading expert on cold chain ethylene management and the development of new technologies for the produce industry. She is experienced in pre- and post-harvest handling, food waste reduction, quality improvement, shelf-life, and profitability based on cutting-edge scientific data.
Deirdre received her Ph.D. in Plant Biology (Postharvest Physiology) from the University of California Davis.
