James Rao biography

James Rao is an agricultural economist at the International Livestock Research Institute, where he works on the socioeconomic analysis, impact assessment, and analysis of adoption and innovation pathways for livestock development programs.

His research areas also include agricultural markets, the agricultural labor force, farm productivity, farm household income, and gender in agriculture. 

He earned his Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the University of Göttingen, an M.Sc in agricultural economics from the University of Hohenheim, and an M.Sc  in International Cooperation Policy from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
