Menale Kassie biography

Menale Kassie is the Head of the Social Science and Impact Assessment Unit (SSIA) at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE). Previously, he worked at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), as a Senior Scientist His research at CIMMYT focused on adoption and impacts of sustainable intensification practices on household welfare, using advanced evaluation cross-sectional-panel econometric and mathematical programming techniques. 

More recent work includes assessing the adoption of combinations of sustainable intensification practices and their impacts on productivity, downside risk, and the cost of risks and agrochemical uses. 

Kassie holds a Ph.D in Development and Resource Economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway.
