Muthu Karthikeyan biography

Muthu Karthikeyan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cooperatives at the Institute of Cooperatives & Development Studies, Ambo University, Ethiopia. His research interests include management, cooperative governance, cooperatives and social enterprises, CSR and social audit, leadership and entrepreneurship, accounting information systems, and MIS.He has authored 29 books and more than 50 papers in regional, national and international journals.

Karthikeyan is a founding partner in the project, International Comparative Analysis of Social Enterprise Models (ICSEM) initiated by EMES Research Network, Belgium, and a member in the ISRF funded project, “Beyond public and private: A model of cooperative higher education” at the Social Science Centre, Lincoln University. He has participated in research projects funded by national and international agencies such as the England Africa Partnership Project, the ILO-Coop Africa Health Cooperative Feasibility Project, and the Kenya Training Needs Assessment Peer-Partnered Project (Ethiopia-Kenya).

He is also an executive member of the International Consortium of Cooperative Business Education (ICBE), initiated by Sobey School of Business, Canada.

Karthikeyan received his MA and Ph.D in Cooperative Managementfrom the Gandhigram University, India, and his MBA from the Tamilnadu Open University, India.
